Site Unknown Q&A

Your name:
Scott Merring (guitar/backing vox).

Where are you from?

The Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, USA.

Name of band:

Site Unknown.

Who else is in your band?

Dave Anton (lead vocals)
Scott Kelly (drums)
Dave Baun (bass)
(yes, there are two Scotts AND two Daves in our current line-up) lol

How would you describe yourselves?

Hard rock, melodic metal with a positive message.

Who are your main influences musically?

So many to list, the main ones are Rush, Van Halen, Queensryche, Dokken, Alice In Chains, Shinedown.

What do you hope to achieve in music?

To write good songs, then hopefully get to record them and play them live.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?

After separately playing in local cover bands over the years, we are finally getting to write and record our own music, and thanks to the digital market more people outside of our area can get to hear what we're about.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?

Some of the trendy cover bands we had to play in the support ourselves over the years! lol

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?

Dave (Anton, vocals) and I talk about this all the time...definitely "World In Disguise" the title track of our EP. It's a bit long but has all the elements we are about and want to incorporate into our music: aggressive guitar riffs, strong melodies, sonic and lyrical dynamics, and most of all positive storytelling within the context of a song.
We're no Dream Theater, but unfortunately it clocks in at almost seven minutes long and some stations have told us it's too long to air on their programs...

Where can we listen to it?

Our ReverbNation page:

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say that I forgot to ask?
The band name, logo and all songs are owned by Scott Merring/Dave Anton. Songs are copyrighted 2013. and registered with ASCAP.
Thanks for the interest and doing what you do to support independent artists, very cool!
