Those Makeshift Heroes Q&A

Your names:
Chris Haywood, Chris Ransom and Mike Ransome.

Where are you from?
Collectively we're from London (Croydon area), but our drummer is currently finishing his final year of University up in Nottingham. We hate being apart :(

Name of band:
Those Makeshift Heroes.

How would you describe yourselves?
We're an energetic and silly alt rock three piece fronted by twins! We like to combine the structural intricacies of Biffy Clyro with the energy of Blink 182 and the Stadium Rock sound of Nickleback.

Who are your main influences musically?
We are massive Reuben fans (if anybody knows them). That's how we got together as a band! We also love Biffy Clyro, Freeze The Atlantic, Hundred Reasons, Coheed & Cambria, Incubus & Paramore. Having said that, Mike & Chris love their soul music (and The Who) Whilst Chris H loves jazz and progressive metal!

What do you hope to achieve in music?
We hope to stay true to the music we love whilst making an impact on the music scene! We want people to enjoy our music and develop lasting relationships with our fans.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
We're relatively new as a band (formed June 2012) so the best is yet to come. Having said that we have had a huge amount of fun building up a fan base, and we cant wait to make our first music video! The response we've had on Twitter has been phenomenal!

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Our first big gig was a fancy dress halloween gig supporting fiN! We bought morph suits and made ourselves into super heroes. We wore Y Fronts and everything. That was a great gig

If you could choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Out of our music, Throw It All Away is probably the song that best represents what we want to achieve. It's upbeat, fast, got a cool groove, and we love the breakdown in the middle. That's a blast to play live! We also love our next single that we're hoping to record soon! It's a bit heavier than our other material, but it ROCKS!

Where can we listen to it?
thosemakeshiftheroes.bandcamp.com - we're also on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon!

Where can we find out more about your music?
Twitter: @makeshiftheroes (We love talking to fans on twitter!!)

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
Those Makeshift Heroes are high in fibre, and one of your recommended five a day! (As part of a balanced diet)
