How would you describe yourselves?
Five handsome gents crafting original soundtracks to midday treats. British indie cinematic pop which blends 60’s sounds with 90’s heart. Love songs with sickly sweet catchy as heck melodies. You’ll be cursing our name after the fifth day of humming.
Who are your main influences musically?
Each member brings a different interest to the sound, from indie beach pop to the most progressive techy metal so we find a blend that encompasses the elements that keep us interested in own sound.
Some bands that float our boat: Why?, Animal Collective, Pink Floyd, Wilco, the Shins, Everything Everything, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Death Cab for Cutie, the Flaming Lips, Incubus, Jeff Buckley, the Magnetic Fields, Battles, Leonard Cohen, Sigur Ros, and Wild Beasts.
What do you hope to achieve in music?
We want to make as many people move their feet, and we’ll bring the noise if you bring the feet.
What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Our launch night for our second EP was pretty exciting. We put on quite a shindig at the Good Ship in Kilburn. We invited along some bands we love, and packed the place to the rafters. The promise of balloons and tunes brought people flocking. We’ve been expanding the elements to the live show and each one has a life of its own. It's where we thrive.
And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Not so much a moment to forget but certainly the low point. Just after our last string of shows at the end of last year our old drummer decided he wanted out. Needless to say it was a huge blow for us and a set back that derailed us for a while. We tried a few drummers on to find the one that fitted and gosh darn it, if we didn’t find just the perfect size in Mr Bramble.
If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
We pride ourselves on each song showcasing a different side of the band and each new song takes on a new evolution in the sound, so right now I’d say the two new tracks we’ve just released live video versions from our rehearsal space.
Lemonade is our short, sharp snapshot of our indie pop sound D.M.T. is a full out psychedelic love song romp.
